Elli Walsh is a freelance arts writer based in Sydney. After graduating from the University of New South Wales with a First Class Honours degree in Art History/Theory assisted by the Honours Year Scholarship, Elli worked as Assistant Editor at Art + Australia as well as an in-house writer for several galleries, including Sullivan+Strumpf and Arthouse Gallery. From 2018 to 2021 she was Deputy Editor at Artist Profile, and she is currently Principal Writer for the publication.
Elli has worked on and contributed to several books, including Khaled Sabsabi monograph (2023), ACU Art Collection: A New Perspective (2023), Del Kathryn Barton: The Nightingale and the Rose, An Li: A Chinese Ghost Tale, Tony Albert monograph, Artist's Choice: Five Decades of Artists' Writing, as well as many art publications.
I acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which I live and work, the Cannalgal and Kayimai people, and pay my respects to Elders past, present and emerging. This always was, and always will be, Aboriginal land.
