Elli Walsh is a freelance arts writer based in Sydney. After graduating from the University of New South Wales with a First Class Honours degree in Art History/Theory assisted by the Honours Year Scholarship, as well as an Arts degree with High Distinction majoring in English Literature, Elli worked as Assistant Editor at Art + Australia. She is currently Deputy Editor of Artist Profile.

Elli has worked on and contributed to several books, including Artists’ Choice, Chinese Zodiac, Tony Albert monograph, An Li: A Chinese Ghost Tale, (all Dott Publishing), and Melinda Schawel: Second Chances (Flinders Lane Gallery). In addition to exhibition catalogue essays, Elli’s writing has appeared in Vault Magazine, ARTAND Australia, Artist Profile and Art Almanac. She has a research background and special interest in hyperrealism, Posthumanism and psychoanalysis in art and cultural theory.

When she’s not writing, interviewing or visiting galleries, you can find Elli in her wine store WINONA, tutoring English Literature or making ceramics.
